EVANSVILLE, Ind.- The Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light, have acquired Defenseman, Brandon Martell from the Rapid City Rush to complete a trade from earlier this season. The IceMen sent forward Dylan Clarke to the Rush on Oct. 14 for a player to be named later, which now has turned into Martell.

Hailing from Andover, MInn., Martell has scored two goals and picked up an assist in 15 games with the Rush this season. He racked up 13 penalty minutes and a -2 rating during his time in South Dakota.

Martell joins the IceMen in his second ECHL season. He played 53 games with the Kalamazoo Wings in 2013-14, netting four goals and recording six points on the season.

The 6'3", 212-pound defenseman played his college hockey at Ohio State University. Martell scored a goal and helped on seven more during his 62 games with the Buckeyes. The 25-year-old was a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree with Ohio State.

The IceMen will host their rivals, the Fort Wayne Komets on Friday and Saturday at the Ford Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. as the IceMen continue their six-game home stand.
