
Marlies to Play Pre-Season Games in St. John's, Newfoundland

Mike Penny, Governor and General Manager of the Toronto Marlies, announced today that the club will play a round robin tournament against two division rivals, the Manitoba Moose - AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks - and the Hamilton Bulldogs - AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens - from Thursday, October 2 through Sunday, October 5 in St. John's, Newfoundland. The pre-season tournament is hosted by the Hamilton Bulldogs.
The four-game round robin tournament, which features all three of the AHL's Canadian-based teams, will begin on Thursday, October 2 with the Marlies playing the Manitoba Moose. The Marlies battle the Hamilton Bulldogs in their second game on Friday, October 3. Following the round robin tournament, the top two teams will advance to the tournament's championship game, which is scheduled for Sunday, October 5.
