
Marlies Drop Wolves 5-2 in Game One

Toronto Marlies News Release
The Toronto Marlies defeated the Chicago Wolves, AHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues, by a score of 5-2 tonight at Allstate Arena to take a 1-0 series lead in their Western Conference Semifinal.
The Marlies would open the scoring midway through the first period with consecutive powerplay goals from Trevor Smith and Peter Holland. Greg McKegg's second goal of the postseason would give Toronto a 3-0 advantage early in the middle frame. Chicago would respond later in the period with Christian Hanson and Michael Davies tallying to pull the Wolves within one. Carter Ashton's first goal of the playoffs gave the Marlies a 4-2 advantage at 3:53 of the third period. Sam Carrick secured a game one victory for Toronto with his fourth goal of the postseason with less than three minutes remaining.
Game two will be played tomorrow night at Allstate Arena. Puck drop is 8 p.m. ET. The Marlies return to Ricoh Coliseum on Wednesday, May 14 at 7 p.m. ET for game three of the series.
