May 9, 2014 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans' longtime mascot, the Moose, and his pal Spikes from the Rochester Red Wings will rappel down the side of First Federal Plaza in downtown Rochester on Friday, May 16 at approximately 1:00 p.m. Moose and Spikes will undergo this daring descent to raise money for the Boy Scouts of America as they help kick-off the annual 21 Stories For Scouts event held by the Seneca Waterways Council.
Proceeds from 21 Stories For Scouts go to support the Urban Scouting program of the Seneca Waterways Council. The council provides service to Rochester youth in many ways, including more than 40 after-school programs for young men ages 6 through 18.
"The Amerks are proud to partner with the Red Wings to help raise money for a great cause," said Amerks Vice President of Business Operations Rob Kopacz. "The Boy Scouts of America have supported our team during the hockey season, and this is a great chance for us to give back."
"It's great to see Spikes and the Moose working together to raise funds for all the Scouts and our friends at the Seneca Waterways Council," said Red Wings General Manager Dan Mason. "We hope that fans of both teams support them and the scouts through their courageous efforts."
