
Marlies Defeat Bulldogs in Preseason Opener

Toronto Marlies News Release
The Toronto Marlies defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs - AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens - by a score of 3-1 in front of a sold out crowd tonight at the Cobourg Community Centre in Cobourg, Ontario.
The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission on Stephen Macaulay's first goal of the preseason. Toronto tied the game in the middle frame on a goal from Brad Ross. Greg Scott notched the game-winning goal with less than two minutes left on the clock in the third period. Greg McKegg added an empty net goal to help secure the win for Toronto.
Toronto and Hamilton will square off in the preseason finale for both clubs on Monday, October 8 at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre in Brantford, Ontario.
The Marlies will open the regular season on Saturday, October 13 with a game against the Rochester Americans - AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres - at Ricoh Coliseum. Puck drop is set for 5 p.m. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling the team's ticket line at 416-597-PUCK (7825).
