Colorado Rapids News Release
Striker Diego Rubio and midfielder Mark-Anthony Kaye were named to the MLS Team of the Week on Monday after the Colorado Rapids' clean sheet performance over Sporting Kansas City. Kaye bagged a center-mid spot in the 3-4-3 formation's Starting XI while Rubio earned a spot on the bench on the Week 3 league lineup.
Kaye recorded a goal in his full 90 minutes on the pitch this Saturday against SKC at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park, his first of the 2022 season. The Canadian international had 100% accuracy in front of Tim Melia's goal as he found the back of the net on his first shot on target of the night.
Rubio collects a spot on the Team of the Week for the second week in a row, first taking a striker position after his Week 2 performance against Atlanta United, when he both scored and made an assist in the 3-0 victory. His goal to open the Rapids' scoring against Sporting on Saturday tallied his goal contributions on the season to three, all taking place in the last two games.
