WILMINGTON, DE - Wilmington scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally and top the BlueClaws 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at Frawley Stadium, handing Jersey Shore their fourth straight loss.

Jersey Shore starter Rafael Marcano gave up just one run over a career-long seven innings, striking out seven, and left with a 3-1 lead, but didn't factor in the decision.

Wilmington rallied in the bottom of the eighth off Andrew Walling (2-2). A walk and a double started the inning and Viandel Pena then singled in two runs to tie the game at three. After a groundout, Yohandy Morales singled home Pena with the go-ahead run.

Todd Peterson came on and threw a 1-2-3 ninth inning to earn his fifth save of the year.

Wilmington got a run in the first inning on an RBI single by Yohandy Morales, but that would be it for the Blue Rocks off Marcano.

The BlueClaws quickly tied the game up on an RBI single from Andrick Nava in the second inning. Kendall Simmons gave Jersey Shore the lead with an RBI single in the top of the third.

The game remained 2-1 into the seventh inning when Nava went deep, his second home run of the season. His previous home run, in May, also came against the Blue Rocks.

Nava finished with two of the BlueClaws six hits in the game.

The BlueClaws return home on Tuesday to take on Aberdeen for their final homestand of the regular season.
