Marauders Opening Week is Here

Bradenton, Fla. - The Bradenton Marauders kick off the 2018 season, the club's ninth at LECOM Park, next week. Marauders players will be introduced to the fans for the first time at an event Tuesday, April 3, at 5:30 p.m. The team's home opener is Saturday, April 7 against the St. Lucie Mets, with gates opening at 5:00 p.m. and the first pitch of the season at 6:30 p.m.

Fun for the entire family is planned for the home opener on Saturday, April 7. It is Pirates and Princesses night at LECOM Park. Dressing up as a Pirate or a Princess for the night is highly encouraged. Activities in the ballpark include free horse and carriage rides, princess appearances and photo opportunities, and the MVP Video Game Trailer will be parked in the Fan Plaza. After the game there will be spectacular postgame fireworks from Zambelli Fireworks and sponsored by Budweiser. Season ticket holders, "All-You-Can-Eat" Plan A purchasers, and group ticket buyers will be invited onto the field to view the fireworks. Each Saturday game will also feature Baseball Bingo presented by Jersey Mike's Subs and PLS Print.

During the game, a used baseball equipment sale will be held inside the ballpark. Proceeds from the sale will benefit Jared Stancil and his family as they travel to Seattle for Jared to compete in the Special Olympics. Jared, an avid Marauders fan and a Miracle League of Manasota participant, will be competing in golf at the Special Olympics this summer.

Marauders fans have their first chance to meet the Marauders at LECOM Park on April 3. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and will be attended by every player and the coaching staff. A formal announcement of the roster will take place at 6:45 p.m., followed by an autograph session on the field. There is no charge to enter the event. Concessions will be available for purchase.

The Marauders open the season on the road on Thursday, April 5 against the Mets. The two teams square off at First Data Field on April 5 and April 6 at 6:30 p.m., before shifting the series to LECOM Park for the weekend. Marauders season ticket holders can attend all Marauders road games for free by presenting their season ticket holder ID card.

Sunday, April 8 features the first Kids Fun Run of the season. After the game all fans 12 and younger can take part in a fun run around the bases presented by Mosaic. The game begins at 1:00 with gates opening at noon. Sunday games at LECOM Park will include "kids concessions stands" focused on providing food options for younger fans, as well as opportunities to spin the prize wheel and win Marauders prizes.

The LECOM Park ticket office opens for the season on Tuesday, April 3. It will be open on Tuesday-Friday non-gamedays from 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. On gamedays the box office will be open on weekdays from 11:00 a.m. until the end of the game and on weekends from two hours before first pitch until the end of the game. The box office will open two hours prior to any 10:30 a.m. games.
