April 2, 2018 - Florida State League (FSL1)
Daytona Tortugas News Release

DAYTONA BEACH, FL - The Daytona Tortugas radio partner will remain the same for 2018, but with an upgrade. WSBB, the Great Voice of Volusia County, will remain the flagship station of the Tortugas Radio Network, broadcasting Tortugas baseball on its three-station cluster, which now includes FM.

"We're very excited to partner with Skip Diegel and WSBB once again for the 2018 season. Skip is great to work with and the addition of an FM station was a huge bonus. It was a no-brainer for us," said Luke Mauro, Director of Communications for the Daytona Tortugas.

All 140 Tortugas games, plus Tuesday's exhibition and any postseason play, will be carried on the Tortugas Radio Network, which includes 1230 AM, 1490 AM, and now 106.9 FM throughout Volusia County. WSBB will serve as the flagship for the sixth straight season.

The games will also be carried online at myam1230.com and daytonatortugas.com, as well as on your mobile device with the TuneIn Radio app and MiLB First Pitch.

Coverage will begin 20-minutes prior to first pitch with the Metcare Pre-Game Show and conclude with a 20-minute post-game following the game, featuring highlights and player interviews.

"Our fans will not only be treated to the best ballpark and game-day experience in Minor League Baseball, but also the best radio network in the Florida State League, and one of the best in all of Minor League Baseball, once again in 2018," said Mauro.

The opening broadcast will be Tuesday night, with Daytona's exhibition game against Embry Riddle at 6:35 PM, prior to Opening Day on Thursday, April 5th. Luke Mauro returns for his third season as "The Voice of the Tortugas" and will be joined in the booth by Frank La Sala, who joined the Tortugas this offseason.

Bring your radio with you to the park and join us for Opening Night this Thursday, April 5th. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM with fireworks to follow the final out. To purchase your tickets, call the Tortugas at (386) 257-3172 or visit daytonatortugas.com.
