Port Charlotte, FL - The Bradenton Marauders (1-0) began the 2017 with a win on Thursday night at Charlotte Sports Park, topping the Stone Crabs (0-1) 8-4. RF Alfredo Reyes scored twice and drove in two runs while going 2-for-4 for the Maraud- ers. Bradenton's bullpen was exceptional in relief of RHP Dario Agrazal. RHP Yunior Montero (W, 1-0) quelled a Charlotte rally in the fifth inning and then struck out the side in the sixth. RHP Logan Sendelbach followed with two scoreless frames be- fore RHP Jess Amedee delivered a perfect ninth inning. The Marauders chased Charlotte starter Genesis Cabrera (L, 0-1) after 3 2/3 innings. Coming into the fourth inning trailing 2 -1, Bradenton seized an opportunity created by Cabrera's erratic pitching. Following a one-out double, LF Logan Hill moved to third on a passed ball and then scored on a wild pitch. Three subsequent walks by Cabrera scored. Reyes plated two with a flare single into right and 2B Mitchell Tolman ended Cabrera's night with a two-run single that plated the fourth and fifth runs of the inning. 3B Ke'Bryan Hayes went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base, and two runs scored in his Bradenton debut. Hayes scored the first Bradenton run of the season on CF Casey Hughston's double in the second inning .Hughston finished with two hits. DH Jordan George collected the first Bradenton home run of the season when he belted a Reece Karalus pitch out to right center in the eighth inning. UP NEXT: The Marauders return to Charlotte Sports Park to face the Stone Crabs in the second game of their split- location series...First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.... RHP Pedro Vasquez will make his season debut for the Marauders...
