PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - The Charlotte Stone Crabs, Advanced-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office announce today a new program, the Active Positive Behavior (A.P.B.) program, which will reward the local community for positive behavior.

The A.P.B. program entails CCSO deputies handing out Stone Crabs issued CCSO A.P.B. Program business cards, which are redeemable for a free ticket to a 2017 Stone Crabs game, when they see citizens of this great community demonstrating positive behavior. The focus will be on youths doing the right thing but all citizens can be rewarded when caught doing the right thing!

"This is a great partnership with the Charlotte Stone Crabs allowing deputies to immediately acknowledge positive behavior by our youth in doing the right thing," said CCSO Sheriff William Prummell. The program will kick off today in conjunction with the Stone Crabs Opening Day, which is tonight, Thursday, April 6th at 6:35 p.m.

"It's an honor for our organization to be able to partner with the heroic men and women of the CCSO and help them forge an even greater bond with the community they serve," said Stone Crabs General Manager, Jared Forma. Forma continued, "To partner with the CCSO and help them be able to reward positive behavior demonstrated by the youths and others within the community is tremendous. We hope this immediate recognition deputies can bestow upon the citizens will not only enhance the CCSO's relationship with the community, but further motivate everyone to always act in a positive way."
