Bradenton, FL - The Marauders (33-21, 65-59) leapt out to a 4-0 leaded and rolled to a 9-3 win over Fort Myers (31-24, 70-56) on Friday night at McKechnie Field. RHP Frank Duncan (W, 8-9) tossed seven strong innings, striking out four without walking a batter while scattering eight hits.
The Miracle pieced together eight innings on the mound with four relievers. Bradenton started quickly against Matt Summers (L, 2-2) with two runs coming in on a single by 1B Jordan Steranka and two more on a double by 3B Wyatt Mathisen. Steranka collected three hits and scored twice and Mathisen drove in three runs while also scoring once.
RHP Junior Lopez recorded the final six outs on the hill for Bradenton. The Marauders remain four games behind Palm Beach in the South Division standings.
NOTES: The game began at 6:33 p.m. under cloudy skies, 91 degrees, and wind blowing 11 mph from left to right ... Austin Meadows recorded his 42nd multi-hit game ...
