
Marauders Break through in Eighth

Port Charlotte, FL - The Marauders (25-15, 57-53) moved back within two games of first place with a 6-4 win over Charlotte (16-22, 61-47) on Friday night at Charlotte Sports Park. 3B Wyatt Mathisen's go-ahead RBI triple in the eighth inning broke a 4-4 tie and CF Austin Meadows punctuated the win with a solo home run in the ninth.
RHP Luis Heredia struck out five over four innings. He allowed four runs but just one earned run as Charlotte clawed out of a 4-0 hole to tie the game in the third inning. LHP Andy Otamendi (W, 4-5) tossed three scoreless innings to earn the win in relief.
DH Jin-De Jhang opened the scoring for Bradenton in the first with a three-run homer off Buddy Borden.
Jhang is now 4-for-5 with five RBIs against Borden this year.
RHP Dovydas Neverauskas pitched the final two innings for a six-out save. He whiffed three.
NOTES: The game began at 6:59 p.m. under partly cloudy skies, 89 degrees, and wind blowing 12 mph from left to right ... Charlotte had three runners caught stealing and a fourth thrown out trying to move up on a wild pitch ... The Marauders take a 7-6 edge in the season series over Charlotte ...
