Manitoba Moose News Release
Tuesday, Nov. 13: Manitoba 0 at San Antonio 5
An early start saw the San Antonio Rampage roll by the Moose as Manitoba opened a four-game road swing. The puck dropped at 10:30 a.m., and the Rampage held the Moose to 16 shots throughout the contest. Former Moose forward Ryan Olsen scored a goal, while former Winnipeg Jets forward Chris Thorburn tallied a pair of assists.
Wednesday, Nov. 14: Manitoba 5 at Texas 4
A thrilling matchup between the Moose and Stars saw the teams trade the lead back-and-forth. Logan Shaw scored twice and added an assist in the win, while Skyler McKenzie supplied the game-winner. Kristian Vesalainen also picked up a goal and an assist in the victory and Eric Comrie turned aside 26 shots for the win.
Saturday, Nov. 17: Manitoba 2 at Grand Rapids 3 OT
JC Lipon opened the scoring, but the Moose found themselves trailing 2-1 late in the third period. Tye McGinn tipped home a Michael Spacek shot to the back of the net with 34.9 seconds left on the clock to force overtime. Carter Camper scored in the extra frame for Grand Rapids.
Sunday, Nov. 18: Manitoba 2 at Chicago 4
The swing wrapped up in Chicago where the Wolves barreled out to a 3-0 lead in the second period. Manitoba didn't go away quietly as JC Lipon scored late in the second, and again with 5:20 to go, pulling the Moose within one. That set up a push from the Moose to the end, but Brandon Pirri iced the game into an empty net with five seconds remaining.

Calling his Shawt
Logan Shaw didn't waste any time in endearing himself to his new teammates. The veteran forward picked up three points (2G, 1A) in Wednesday's victory over Texas. He then followed that performance by assisting on both of JC Lipon's goals against Chicago yesterday afternoon. Overall, Shaw has 10 points (4G, 6A) in 11 AHL games this season split between the Moose and San Diego Gulls. Shaw signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Winnipeg Jets last Sunday.
Vesalainen Back to the Jets
The Winnipeg Jets announced last week the team had recalled forward Kristian Vesalainen from the Moose. The Winnipeg Jets 2017 first rounder scored a goal and set up one of Shaw's tallies for his third multi-point game of the season on Wednesday. Seven of Vesalainen's eight points with the Moose came as part of those multi-point efforts: Oct. 21 - 3A / Nov. 10 - 2G / Nov. 14 1G, 1A.
Lip-on a Roll
Forward JC Lipon has seven points (3G, 4A) in his last six games. The Regina, Sask. native went six games without registering a point leading into his current run. Lipon picked up points in all three recent games against Grand Rapids, and added two helpers against Texas on Wednesday. He closed out Manitoba's road swing with a two-goal effort against Chicago. Lipon is tied for third on the Moose with 10 points (4G, 6A) in 17 games.
Earning Air Miles
The Moose covered plenty of distance on their four-game trip this past week. Starting down in Texas, the full circuit covered 5,848 km (3,634 miles) of travel. The opening leg down to San Antonio covered 2,380 km (1,480 miles), while Thursday's transfer from Austin to Grand Rapids accounted for 2,095 km (1,300 miles) of the total. Manitoba is in the midst of playing 10 of 12 games away from home. Following a pair of games at Bell MTS Place Nov. 23 and 24, the Moose depart on a six-game swing through California.
Tye McGinn found his way back onto the scoresheet this weekend. The veteran scored a key goal for the Moose on Saturday against Grand Rapids, tipping home a Michael Spacek shot for his second of the season and tying the contest with 34.9 seconds left on the clock. McGinn then picked up a helper, his first of the campaign, in Saturday's loss to Chicago. The Fergus, Ont. product has 168 points (88G, 80A) in 326 career AHL games.
