Monsters Recall Forwards Dan DeSalvo and Nikita Korostelev from ECHL's Jacksonville IceMen

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League announced Monday that the team has recalled forwards Dan DeSalvo and Nikita Korostelev from the ECHL's Jacksonville IceMen.
A 5'8", 174 lb., right-handed native of Rolling Meadows, IL, DeSalvo, 26, has appeared in three games for the Monsters in 2018-19, tallying four penalty minutes and a -1 rating. Over the course of eight games with the ECHL's Jacksonville IceMen, DeSalvo posted 2-3-5 with six penalty minutes and a -4 rating.
Before joining Cleveland, DeSalvo supplied 5-11-16 with 28 penalty minutes and a -9 rating in 44 appearances for the Hartford Wolfpack in 2017-18. Prior to joining the Wolfpack, DeSalvo spent two seasons with the Manitoba Moose from 2015-17, posting 23-31-54 with 34 penalty minutes and a -15 rating in 83 games. In 77 ECHL games with the Tulsa Oilers, spanning three seasons from 2015-18, DeSalvo tallied 26-46-72 with 38 penalty minutes and a +18 rating.
Prior to his professional career, DeSalvo contributed 29-73-102 with 117 penalty minutes and a -1 rating in 153 NCAA appearances for Bowling Green State University spanning four seasons from 2011-15. In 58 USHL appearances for the Des Moines Buccaneers during the 2010-11 season, DeSalvo tallied 14-28-42 with 66 penalty minutes and a +5 rating.
A 6'1", 209 lb. right-handed native of Moskva, Russia, Korostelev, 21, was originally selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the seventh round (185th overall) of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He has appeared in two games for the Monsters in 2018-19, posting a +2 rating. In eight games with the Jacksonville IceMen prior to his call-up, Korostelev contributed 0-1-1 and a +1 rating.
In the first professional action of his career, Korostelev supplied 1-1-2 with two penalty minutes and a -8 rating in ten appearances for the AHL's Laval Rocket last season. In 287 combined OHL appearances for the Sarnia Sting and Peterborough Petes spanning parts of five seasons from 2015-18, Korostelev notched 123-149-272 with 142 penalty minutes and a -47 rating.
