Colorado Mammoth News Release
Denver, Colo. - The Colorado Mammoth today acquired former Philadelphia Wings captain Dave Stilley in a trade that sends Mammoth defenseman Hugh Donovan to the Wings.
"Dave brings a significant physical presence and we believe he'll be a fantastic addition to the Mammoth," said Colorado Mammoth president and general manager Steve Govett. "He plays with huge heart and emotion and his leadership skills are unmatched in the NLL."
A 6'2", 200-pound defenseman, Stilley is a right-shooting native of Philadelphia. He attended Duke University where he was a two-time captain, a first-team All-American, and led the Blue Devils to the 1997 National Lacrosse Championship Final Four.
Stilley was selected by the Philadelphia Wings in the fourth round of the 1998 National Lacrosse League entry draft and elected team captain in 2000. He holds the fifth and sixth positions in the Wings' record book for all-time penalty minutes in a season.
Stilley will play for the Mammoth on Saturday night (3/1) at Pepsi Center against the Vancouver Ravens.
