Quad City Mallards News Release

QUACK TRACKS

Splitsville

The Mallards rebounded from last Thursday's 3-2 loss to Missouri with a 2-1 overtime win over Arizona last Saturday. The victory over the Sundogs lifted the Flock to the .500 mark for the third time this season.

Home Sweet Home The Mallards have completed a three game home stand with a 2-1-0 record. Last Saturday's victory at the i wireless Center over Arizona was the Flock's fourth in its last five home games.

The Grind

The Mallards this Friday begin a stretch of seven games in nine days. The Flock will play five of those seven games on the road and will travel 3,158 miles in that nine day span.

Three in Three

The Mallards this weekend will play three games in three nights for the second time this season. The Flock will also play three times in three evenings next week. Quad City will play on three consecutive nights a total of 12 times this year.

Shoot the Moon

The Mallards last Thursday set a team single game season low by hurling only 16 shots at the Missouri net. Two nights later the Flock established a club season high for one game by pouring 39 shots on goal against Arizona.

Working Overtime

Right wing Brandon Marino (1-5-6) scored his first goal of the season at 2:05 of overtime to give the Mallards a 2-1 win over Arizona last Saturday and lift Quad City's record in sudden death to 2-0.

Two-for-Two

Goaltender Adam Russo earned his second win in as many starts for the Mallards by making 27 saves against Arizona last Saturday. Russo has given up just a single goal in each of his first two starts.

Rollin'

Linemates Mike McLean (4-5-9) and Obi Aduba (3-4-7) are both in the midst of four game point scoring streaks. Centerman McLean and left wing Aduba have cranked up their production after picking up just a single assist apiece in the first six games of the season.

Pear-less

Right wing Zac Pearson (7-4-11) is tied for eighth in the league in goal scoring. Pearson has gone four games without a goal.

Firsts

Marino's game winner last Saturday was his first goal of the season. That goal was also his first in 12 games- the first nine of this season and the final three of last season.

Ins and Outs

The Mallards have waived left wing Maxime Mathieu. Mathieu did not play in the regular season after starting the campaign on injured reserve (concussion).

Mighty Mississippi

The RiverKings bounced back from back-to-back losses by dropping the Colorado Eagles 4-3 last Saturday night. That defeat ended Colorado's eight game regulation unbeaten streak. Mississippi will visit the Rapid City Rush tomorrow before returning home for Friday's date with the Mallards.

In Bloom

The PrairieThunder will host Arizona Wednesday after having only played once in the prior ten days. Bloomington is tied for the fewest losses (2) in the CHL. The PrairieThunder last season won seven of their eight home matchups with the Mallards.

Shining Former Mallard Chris Lipsett, now a Dayton player/assistant coach, leads the Gems in assists (7) and points (10). The Gems bring a three game winning streak into a weekend that will see them play three games in three nights. Dayton will visit Evansville Friday and Fort Wayne Saturday before taking to the ice at the i wireless Center Sunday.
