Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release
The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (6-3-2) complete their three game road trip Tuesday evening in Odessa. The Bees are coming off a hard fought 4-3 victory against the Texas Brahmas in a shootout on Saturday night. In the shootout Tomas Klempa and Aaron Lee each scored and Juliano Pagliero turned all four Texas shooters he saw. In regulation Ryan McLeod regis-tered a goal and an assist in his first game against his former squad.
The Bees previously swept the Odessa Jackalopes at the State Farm Arena on Nov. 5 and 6. The Bees won the Friday night affair in a marathon 16-round shootout and were victorious in regulation on Saturday by a score of 4-1.
After the Odessa game the Bees will return to the Valley and play host to Bossier-Shreveport on Friday and Texas on Saturday. When the Bees face the Brahmas they will be wearing special Harley-Davidson jersey's that will be auctioned off after the game. The Bees are undefeated at the State Farm
BEES NEED TO KNOW
. Aaron Lee continues to climb the all-time Killer Bees record lists. Currently Lee is tied with Trevor Weisgerber for eighth most points all-time by a Bee (91 points). Lee needs four goals to tie Grant Goeckner-Zoeller for sixth in goals scored, 48.
. Zak McClellan, who was named captain at the start of the season, is one shorthanded goal from tying the all-time Killer Bees record of eight.
. Third time's the charm for the Killer Bees when it comes to shootouts. After falling in their first two shootouts the Bees prevailed over Odessa on Nov. 5., then again Nov. 13 against Texas.
. The Killer Bees hold a five points to three advantage over the Laredo Bucks in the first-ever Cricket Mayor's Cup, which will be awarded to the team with the most points against.
. The Killer Bees are four victories away from the franchise's 200th victory all-time, the Bees currently stand at 196 franchise wins.
. Kyle Radke, a rock solid defensemen, has scored two goals this season. The last time Radke lit the lamp twice in one season?
