Mallards Outlast Outlaws 4-3

Moline, IL- The Quad City Mallards rounded up their 20th victory of the season as they defeated the Kansas City Outlaws 4-3 at The MARK of the Quad Cities Friday night.

After a scoreless first period, the Outlaws took a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal by Scott Kirton. The Mallards evened the score 4:34 later on Joe Dusbabek's 7th goal of the season. Sergei Durdin and Marty Standish earned assists on the goal. Defenseman Andy Fermoyle earned first star honors with a goal and an assist on the night. Fermoyle scored his first goal of the season and 17th in a Mallards uniform at 19:08 of the period.

The Outlaws drew even just 25 seconds into the final frame on an even strength marker from Joe Seroski. Fermoyle set up Faro Skladany for his 4th goal of 2004-05 at the 5:46 mark. 1:30 later, Greg Barber beat Outlaws netminder Tim Knudsen for the eventual game-winner. Kansas City struck once more as Mark Lee crashed the net, knocking it off its moorings, but not before Jimmy Callahan punched home his eighth goal of the season.

The Mallards begin a five-game road trip tomorrow night in Fort Wayne. Game time is 7:30 p.m. with the First Capital Financial Pre-Game Show at 7:05 p.m. on Fox Sports Radio AM 1230. After the game, stay tuned for the Allstate Insurance Del Newton/Christy Cox Post-Game Show. On Sunday, the Mallards take on the Motor City Mechanics at 1:00 p.m.

The Mallards return home Sunday, February 13th for a 3:00 game vs. the Adirondack Frostbite. It's another Family Fun-Day Sunday with a pre-game skate from 1:15-2:00 p.m. Tickets for all Mallards home games are available at The MARK box office or via phone at (563) 326-1111.
