Mallards Look to Sweep Home-And-Home Series

Kenosha, Wis. - The Madison Mallards (6-3) will play the Kenosha Kingfish (4-5) in the second game of a two game series tonight at the "Duck Pond." First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm.

The Mallards have won all three games against the Kingfish this year, beating them in Kenosha on Monday 17-5 and on Tuesday 8-0. Last night, the Mallards beat the Kingfish 12-1 at the "Duck Pond," highlighted by three home runs, two off the bat of Robbie Tenerowicz (California). Tenerowicz was 3-4 with two blasts and five RBI and was named Northwoods League Player of the Night for his performance. He currently ranks second in the Northwoods League in runs batted in with nine and is tied for first in home runs at three.

Receiving the win for the Mallards was Alex Pondick (Montevallo). Pondick pitched five scoreless innings while giving up four hits and striking out five to move to 2-0 on the year.

On the mound tonight for the Mallards is 6'2", 190-pound southpaw Tom Constand (Western Illinois). Constand is 1-0 on the year and in his last outing pitched five innings and gave up two runs, one earned, on seven hits while striking out three in a 15-3 win over the La Crosse Loggers. He will go up against Kingfish starter Trevor Hass (Valparaiso). Hass is 1-0 on the year and pitched seven shutout innings against the Green Bay Bullfrogs last Friday, giving up three hits and two walks while striking out five Bullfrog batters.

The Mallards stay at the "Duck Pond" tomorrow to face the Green Bay Bullfrogs (6-3) at 7:05 pm. Tomorrow will also feature in-game entertainment by The Russian Bar Trio presented by Charter Communications.
