Last Game

Shawn Pauly scored twice and Adam Carlson made 22 saves as the host Kansas City Mavericks blanked the Mallards 8-0 Sunday.

Tripleheader

Tonight's game is the first of three in 48 hours between the Mallards and Oilers in Tulsa. The two clubs meet again tomorrow night and Sunday afternoon.

The Mallards Sunday set a team record with their fortieth regulation loss of the season. They surpassed the old club high established in 1995-96 in the Colonial Hockey League when they endured 39 regulation defeats during their inaugural season.

The Mallards have set a new team record by losing eight straight games in regulation. The Mallards last won on March 2 when they defeated the Utah Grizzlies 7-6 in a shootout. The Mallards eclipsed the previous club record of six consecutive regulation defeats- set between December 31, 2016 and January 13, 2017- last Friday with a 3-2 loss to Toledo.

The Mallards Sunday suffered their club record-setting twenty-fifth regulation road loss in their thirty-first away game of the season. They broke the old team record of 24 regulation road setbacks first set when they went 8-24-5 over 37 games on the road in 1995-96 in the Colonial League and matched when they went 7-24-7 over 38 road tilts in 2009-10 in the International Hockey League.

The Mallards Sunday tied a team record set earlier this season by dropping a ninth straight road game in regulation. The Mallards last won on the road on February 14 when they defeated the Wings 4-3 in Kalamazoo. The Mallards first endured nine straight regulation setbacks on the road between December 8 and January 6.

Hit the Road

The Mallards tonight play the second game of a six-game road trip.

Home Cooking

The Mallards have suffered three straight home regulation losses for the first time this season.

High

The Mallards Sunday matched a team season high for goals allowed. Sunday's contest was the fourth game this season in which they have surrendered eight goals.

Onslaught

The Mallards have allowed 68 goals over their last 13 games.

Blanked

The Mallards Sunday were shut out for a team record-tying sixth time this season. The Mallards were also blanked a half dozen times in both 2004-05 and 2005-06 while competing in the United Hockey League.

Déjà vu

Sunday's defeat was the Mallards' second 8-0 loss in ten days. They fell by the same score March 9 in Toledo.

Lopsided

The Mallards last lost by more than eight goals when they fell to the Thunder Bay Thunder Cats 12-2 on January 3, 1998 in the UHL.

Helping Hand

Willie Raskob ranks sixth among ECHL rookies and tied for seventh among defensemen in assists (30).

Between the Pipes

C.J. Motte has started three straight games since returning to the Mallards from the American Hockey League's Stockton Heat Tuesday.

Red Light District

The Mallards rank twenty-seventh in the ECHL in goals scored (2.7) and allowed per game (4.2).

Outside the Box

The Mallards are the second least penalized team in the ECHL. They average 9.8 minutes in the box per game.

Special Teams

The Mallards have killed off eight of their opponents' last nine power plays. The Mallards rank fifteenth in the ECHL on the power play (17.1 percent) and twenty-fifth in penalty killing (77.3 percent).

Head to Head

The Mallards won two of their first three meetings- each of which was played in Moline- with the Oilers. On February 6, the Mallards completed- and won 4-3 in a shootout- a game against the Oilers that started 81 days earlier on November 17 before being suspended in the second period. The Mallards this weekend finish their six-game season series with the Oilers. The Mallards tonight make their first appearance at the BOK Center in better than two years since they defeated the Oilers 4-3 in overtime on February 13, 2016. All-time, the Mallards have gone 19-15-0 against Tulsa overall and 5-7-0 at the BOK Center.

The Mallards yesterday signed defenseman Tommy Muratore to an amateur tryout agreement.
