
Mallards Eye Third-Straight Victory at Lakeshore

Mequon, WI - The Madison Mallards (6-5) hope to string together their first three-game winning streak of the young season Monday night against the Lakeshore Chinooks (7-5).
The Mallards are coming off of a sweep against the Eau Claire Express over the weekend. They won 3-1 on Saturday despite recording just one hit and blew out the Express Sunday by a score of 9-1.
Outfielder Drew Weeks (North Florida) got the Mallards going offensively Sunday by knocking in five runs in just the first two innings. He hit a two-run single in the first and took Express starter Alec Crawford (Minnesota) deep for a three-run home run the next inning.
Jordan Tabakman (UConn) was dominant in his first start of the season for the Mallards. He went five innings and allowed just two hits while walking one and striking out two.
Greg Welsh (Penn State) will be making his third start of the season for the Mallards Monday night and is looking to improve to 3-0 on the year. He got the win and went five innings, allowing one earned run on four hits and four walks in his last start on June 4th against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. He has struck out 12 batters in his 10.1 innings pitched this season.
Matheny's On Fire
Outfielder Tate Matheny (Missouri State) is 7-for-17 with two home runs, a triple and six RBIs over his last four games. He went yard in back-to-back games on June 7th and June 8th and hit a triple Sunday against the Eau Claire Express. He is now hitting .317 with eight RBIs on the season in 10 games.
Still No Zero in the "E" Column
The Mallards had two more errors in their 9-1 win on Sunday against the Express. Through 11 games this season, the Mallards have not completed a game without an error.

The Mallards will play another game at 6:35 against the Chinooks in Mequon, Wisconsin tomorrow to close out their four-game road trip. They return home Wednesday for a 7:05 pm game against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. The BOCA Burger Vegetarian Appreciation Night and the Madison Knitters Guild Stitch and Pitch Night will both be held that night. The Meriter Hand Sanitizer Giveaway will also take place.
