
Mallards Drop Missouri to Close Out Pre-Season

Moline, IL-In just his second pro game, Mallards rookie Mike Kompon registered a pair of power-play goals as the Mallards beat Missouri 3-1. On the night, the Mallards scored three power-play markers as they finished their exhibition schedule with a 1-1-0 record.
Jason Lehoux opened the scoring with a man advantage marker at 4:22 of the first period. Kompon added the first of his pair ten minutes later as the Mallards took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission.
In the second, Dave Struch scored for Missouri to cut the Quad City lead in half. Struch's even strength mark was answered 1:18 later when Kompon scored his second of the night on the power play to close the scoring at 3-1.
Kompon finishes the exhibition schedule as the Mallards leading scorer with four points (three goals and an assist) in two games. Marty Standish finishes second with three points (a goal and two assists) after notching two assists on Monday night.
The Mallards open regular season play on Friday in Rockford. The First Capital Financial pre-game show starts at 6:45 p.m. on Fox Sports Radio 1230 AM. Opening face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
The Mallards begin the home portion of their tenth anniversary season on October 30th vs. Kansas City at The MARK of the Quad Cities.
