PORT HURON, MI- The Port Huron Beacons of the United Hockey League (UHL) are proud to announce the signing of longtime NHL Goaltender Daniel Berthiaume to the 2004-05 roster.

Daniel Berthiaume, is a veteran of 215 NHL games and eight seasons. Among those eight years he spent in the NHL, the Winnipeg Jets, Minnesota North Stars, Los Angeles Kings, Boston Bruins and Ottawa Senators were all called home for Berthiaume.

During the 1994-95 and 1995-96 seasons, Berthiaume played for the IHL's Detroit Vipers. He played a combined seven games between the two seasons compiling a 4-3-0 record with a 2.84 GAA and .898 save percentage.

The past two seasons Berthiaume played for the Greensboro Generals under current Beacons Head Coach, Rick Adduono. While playing for Adduono, Berthiaume totaled a 30-14-5 record, 2.90 GAA and .915 save percentage in the 2002-03 season. In the 2003-04 season Berthiaume totaled a 23-18-1 record, 3.60 GAA and .901 save percentage.

Berthiaume won the Outstanding Goaltender award in 1996-97 with the Central-Texas Stampede of the WPHL. He shares the award with two former Beacons, Kory Cooper in 1999 and Kevin St. Pierre in 1998.

With the addition of Berthiaume, the Beacons roster currently sits at 20. Previously the Beacons had signed Aaron Brand, Joe Sewell, Mat Goody, Josh Tataryn, Jamie Young, Scott Gouthro, David Beauregard, Malcolm MacMillan, Drew O'Connell, Robbie Colangelo, Drew Power, Riku Rahikainen, Mark Lindsay, Ian Jacobs, Chris Cloutier, Geoff O'Leary, Stu Dunn, Mike Harper and Chad Dameworth.
