MADISON, WI- The Bombers struggled offensively tonight as they dropped the series finale to the Madison Mallards 7-1.
The Mallard's offense got on the scoreboard immediately scoring 4 runs in the first two innings off Bomber's starting pitcher Kyle Teague (Grand Valley State). Another run was pushed across by Madison in the 4th inning to go ahead 5-0.
Battle Creek got on the board in the top of the 5th as Daniel Rockett (Texas- San Antonio) came around to score on a sacrifice fly from Turner Gill (Portland). The Mallards tacked on two more runs in the 6th off reliever Brian Heldman (Arkansas), and the bullpen held the Bombers in check from there. Chad Jasmin (Michigan), Kenton San Miguel (Central Michigan), and Patrick Borlik (Western Michigan) all threw scoreless frames out of the bullpen for the Bombers.
The Bombers now look to tomorrow night as they open up a 3-game set against the Lakeshore Chinooks.
