
Makway Leads River Otters Past IceHogs 3-2

Steve Makway registered two points and scored the shootout game-winner as the Missouri River Otters dispelled the Rockford IceHogs 3-2 Sunday night at the Family Arena.
Preston Mizzi scored goals in the opening minute and the closing minute of the first period to give his squad a 2-0 lead. Michel Robinson left in the first period with an injury. The River Otters scored the lone goal in the second period when J.P. Beilsten deflected a Makway shot between the pads of Ronnie Vogel. Missouri completed the comeback three minutes into the third period when Steve Makway fired a power-play wrister that found a home in the upper regions of the net. In the shootout, Scott Dobben, Tyler Butler, and Makway all scored to give their squad the victory. Brenden Cuthbert made 29 saves in the victory while Vogel made 19 saves in defeat.
The River Otters host the Fort Wayne Komets next Friday night at the Family Arena. The puck drops at 7:00 CST, and all the action can be heard on KSLQ 104.5 FM and the B2 Networks, located at www.riverotters.com.
