Vipers Drop Three in a Row to Danbury
March 19, 2006 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Roanoke Valley Vipers News Release
ROANOKE, VA - The Roanoke Valley Vipers, member of the United Hockey League (UHL), got on the board first on a Jan Jas power play goal at 12:53 of the first period, but former Viper David Beauregard evened it up at 18:57.
Carlyle Lewis scored his first goal as a Viper 22 seconds into the second period to give the Vipers their lead back, but Jean-Michel Daoust tied it up again for Danbury at the 9:50 mark. The Trashers followed with four straight to lengthen the distance between themselves and the Vipers on the scoreboard.
Josh Tataryn cut the Trashers' lead in half to make it a 6-3 game at 16:38 of the third, but it would be too late for the Vipers, who had fallen too far behind with not enough time remaining on the clock. The goal was the left wing's first since his return to the Vipers mid last week. Tataryn was dealt to the Elmira Jackals in late December in exchange for Charlie Elezi; the Jackals released him on waivers last week and the Vipers claimed his rights the following day to bring him back to the Star City.
The Vipers will travel to Richmond to take on the RiverDogs on Wednesday night and Friday night, and will return home to face Perry Florio and the Elmira Jackals on Saturday and Sunday, March 25th and 26th. The puck will drop at 7:35p.m. on Saturday and at 5:05p.m. on Sunday. Nickelodeon animated character Jimmy Neutron will be in attendance at both games - bring the kids out to meet the star of the popular series and get your family's picture taken with Jimmy! Come out to the game Sunday to see Molly McMaster suit up in a Vipers uniform in the final stop of her month long campaign and journey through the UHL.
