Mississauga St. Michael's Majors News Release
Sudbury, ON - The Mississauga St. Michael's Majors continued their travels this evening with a visit to the home of the Sudbury Wolves, and downed the home squad 4-3. As a result, Mississauga's record moves to 32-24-1-2 on the season.
Mississauga's Blake Parlett opened up the scoring 51 seconds into the 1st period with help from Kaspars Daugavins and Jordan Mayer to make it 1-0. Sudbury's Kain Allicock knotted the contest shortly after at 7:01 off of a lone pass from Kyle Tarini.
William Wallén got the Majors ahead 2-1 with a goal coming 2:29 into the 2nd period while Cameron Gaunce and Jared Gomes earned the assists. Eric O'Dell answered back for the Wolves at 14:49, off of feeds from Matt Dias and John McFarland, to tie things up. However, Mississauga quickly grabbed a 3-2 lead as Kale Kerbashian connected at 15:06. The assists went to David Corrente and Parlett.
Then, Daugavins' tally coming 3:34 into the 3rd period put the visitors up 4-2, as Gomes and Corey Bureau provided the feeds. Dias came back with a goal on a man-advantage for the Wolves with only 15 seconds left in the frame, but the Majors held onto the lead to take the win. Akim Aliu and Jared Staal were the helpers.
JP Anderson got the start between the pipes and blocked 22 shots for the Majors, while Alain Valiquette and Andrew Loverock combined to make 37 saves for the Wolves. Mississauga went 0 for 3 on the power-play, while Sudbury closed out 1 for 7 on the night. The game's three stars were Parlett (1st), Gomes (2nd) and Allicock (3rd).
