Majors Announce Trade with Belleville

MISSISSAUGA - Mississauga St. Michael's Majors Head Coach and General Manager James Boyd announced a trade with the Belleville Bulls on Monday, acquiring a third round draft pick (BEL '13) in exchange for overage forward Jordan Mayer.

Mayer, a 20-year-old from Kingston, Ontario is in his fifth OHL season - each with the Majors - and ranked second in team scoring this season with eleven goals and 20 assists for 31 points in 35 games played. He amassed 89 goals and 91 assists for 180 points in 267 regular season career games with the Majors, along with 32 points (18-14) in 56 career playoff games, including five games played and two points (1-1) in the 2011 Mastercard Memorial Cup. Mayer leaves the Majors with the distinction of the all-time leader of regular season games played as a Major with a total of 267.

The Majors and Bulls will meet three more times during the regular season - Wednesday, January 18th at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday, February 18th at 7:05 p.m. - both in Belleville - and Friday, March 2nd at 7:30 p.m. in Mississauga.

Majors next game: Friday, January 13th @ Sarnia Sting 7 p.m.

Bulls next game: Thursday, January 12th @ Brampton Battalion 7 p.m.
