
Red Hot Plymouth Whalers Play in Kitchener on Friday, Host Mississauga on Saturday

EVERYONE'S BACK - Rickard Rakell (Sweden), J.T. Miller (United States), Scott Wedgewood (Canada) and Dario Trutmann (Switzerland) are back in the lineup after playing for their respective countries in the 2012 World Junior Championships. Mitchell Dempsey (Ontario) is back after playing in the World U-17 Hockey Challenge.
OFFENSIVE BALANCE - The Whalers are second in the OHL with 164 goals scored through 40 games, but has just one player (Stefan Noesen) in the OHL's Top 20 in scoring. The reason? Excellent offensive balance, with eight players totaling between 44 and 32 points. The players include Stefan Noesen (18 goals, 26 assists for 44 points and 20th the OHL scoring race), Alex Aleardi (23-1740), J.T. Miller (13-2639), Rickard Rakell (17-2138), Garrett Meurs (16-2238), Mitchell Heard (20-1737), Andy Bathgate (13-2437) and Beau Schmitz (11-2132).
FINAL TRADE DEADLINE - The Final Ontario Hockey League Trade Deadline is Tuesday at noon. There's been plenty of activity around the OHL, but Plymouth General Manager and Head Coach Mike Vellucci reports no trades for Plymouth as of 2pm today.

WHALERS ON RADIO: The radio home of the Whalers - 88.1 FM WSDP - has gone through a format change. Now known as The New 88.1FM, the radio station has picked up the rest of the Whalers schedule for 2011-12. Just one game out of Plymouth's remaining schedule (Mar. 14 in Sault Ste. Marie) is not on the broadcast schedule, but that may change.
