PORTLAND, ME - On the heels of National Girls and Women In Sports Day, the Maine Celtics today announced they are teaming up with VistaPrint to host "Women in Sports Night" at Maine's upcoming home game on Saturday, Feb. 4.

"Whether it's in the training room, the front office, or on our day-to-day staff, our business would not be a success without the hard work of the women that we work in our organization," said Maine Celtics President Dajuan Eubanks. "It is a privilege to be able to recognize all women in sports, as we see first-hand how vital it is to have a diverse and inclusive workforce."

The team will wear special themed uniforms for Saturday's game against College Park. The uniforms were designed by Playa Society, a Boston-based women's sports and streetwear design company. Founded by designer Esther Wallace, Playa Society is also a past recipient of one of the Boston Celtics' Power Forward Small Business grants, a Celtics United joint initiative with VistaPrint. Working in conjunction with the NAACP, Power Forward is aimed at supporting Black-owned small businesses across New England. During Saturday's game, Playa Society will be recognized as the VistaPrint Small Business of the Game.

"A jersey is a new canvas for me, this is my first," said Wallace. "But what makes it even more exciting is that the design is centered around my ethos, which is recognizing women in sports. I hope women love it, I hope the next Gen that is watching loves it, and I hope the guys are proud to wear it."

"We are excited to host Women in Sports Night in partnership with the Maine Celtics," said Erin Shea, Senior Director of NA Marketing at VistaPrint. "As we shine a light on the contributions of women in sports, we also have an opportunity to spotlight local small businesses and non-profits that empower women. We hope that by partnering with Playa Society to create special edition uniforms for this game we're able to honor the immense contributions women continue to have both in and outside of the arena."

Additionally, a special themed poster featuring designs from the uniforms will be given out to the first 1,000 fans to arrive at the Expo Saturday, courtesy of VistaPrint. Maine Celtics front office staff will be wearing special shirts that include the design.

The uniforms also highlight Girls On The Run, a Maine-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering girls through athletics and inclusion. The Maine Celtics will recognize Girls On The Run participants during the game as Honorary Captains, and proceeds from tickets sold to Saturday's game will benefit the organization.

Limited tickets for Saturday's game are still available and can be purchased by visiting MaineCeltics.com.
