PORTLAND, ME - After appearing to have turned the season around by winning 5 of 7, including going 3-1 on the road, the Maine Red Claws (12-21) dropped their fourth straight today and their game third consecutive at home. Maine took an early lead over the visiting Bakersfield Jam (17-14) but could not hold onto it, falling to the Jam 118-109.

During the first half of the game, it seemed as if the Red Claws might get themselves back intot the win column. Leading by nine at the beginning of the second, Maine quickly increased their lead to fourteen. The Jam battled back, closing the Red Claws' lead to eight entering the third frame. The break seemed to recharge the Jam, allowing them to outscore Maine 32-20. Bakersfield led by four going into the final quarter. Maine tried to retake the lead but was ultimately unable to do so, losing 109-118.

Bakersfield's Osiris Eldridge led all players with 30 points on the day. The Jam's win would not have been possible without his four teammates who also scored in the double digits: Jeremy Wise (19 pts), Renaldo Major (17 pts), Juan Pattillo (16 pts) and Adrian Thomas (14 pts). Patillo narrowly missed the double-double with 8 rebounds.

Maine's Craig Brackins picked up his second double-double with the Red Claws with 21 pts and 12 rebounds, leading all Red Claws' scorers. After hitting the triple-double Friday night, Kenny Hayes, with 15 pts and 8 rebounds was just two rebounds short of the double-double. The Adidas Player of the Game, Courtney Pigram, had 21 points on the day with 8 assists, leading all players in that realm. Morris Almond (18 pts) and Lawrence Hill (10 pts) also scored in double digits.

The Jam will return to action tomorrow at Springfield for a 3 PM President's Day matchup with the Armor before traveling to Canton to face the Charge on Wednesday. The Red Claws will look to regain the winning ways they found on their last road trip, heading to Oklahoma Tuesday to take on the Tulsa 66ers and the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Wednesday heading into the All-Star Break.
