Los Angeles D-Fenders News Release

EL SEGUNDO, CA - In a game to determine first place in the West Conference the Los Angeles D-Fenders never trailed and defeated the Austin Toros 109-94 for their seventh straight win on Saturday night.

The victory gives the D-Fenders (24-10) the best record in the league and matches the longest win streak in franchise history (7 games) set earlier this season (12/29/11-1/11/12) by Head Coach Eric Musselman's squad.

Los Angeles led early, ended the first quarter up 11 points and allowed Austin to only get within 3 points of the lead through the final three quarters of the game thanks largely in part to Malcolm Thomas, who finished with 17 points (7-9 FG), 10 rebounds and five blocked shots for his second-straight double-double.

In addition, the D-Fenders' Courtney Fortson totaled 17 points (6-6 FG), eight rebounds, seven assists and three steals, Devin Ebanks tallied 17 points, four rebounds and two steals, and Elijah Millsap scored 16 points to go with a season-high five steals in front of the Toyota Sports Center crowd.

Meanwhile, Justin Dentmon paced the Toros (21-11) with 25 points (8-17 FG, 7-7 FT), Leo Lyons registered 18 points along with 10 rebounds, and Julian Sensley as well as Da'Sean Butler added 10 points in the loss.

The D-Fenders conclude a two-game series against Austin tomorrow, February 19th at Toyota Sports Center. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. PST and the game can be seen on NBA Futurecast.
