Madison Capitols News Release
Madison looked to bounce back from the high-scoring loss on Friday night to the USNTDP U18's. The two same teams met up on Saturday night for a chance to take home two points.
Early on, the scoreboard held quiet on both sides, but the US changed that later on in the first period. A pair of goals for the NTDP gave them a 2-0 lead at intermission number one.
The second period had the NTDP extend their lead to six. Throughout the second period, the game picked up intensity, which led to an altercation near the end of the period. 96 minutes of penalties led to all five skaters on the U18 side serving 10+ minutes of penalties.
In the third, the US struck twice early on to make it 8-0. Max Nagel scored off a deflection to get Madison on the board, but it was much too little, much too late. The NTDP skated away with a 8-1 victory.
Madison falls to 11-34-2-1 on the season. The Caps look to bounce back next Friday at home against Cedar Rapids. It's a $1 Beer Night with puck drop scheduled for 7:05 pm. Tickets are still available at tickets.madcapshockey.com.
