
Storm Seeks Weekend Sweep of Buccaneers

URBANDALE, IA - The Tri-City Storm seeks a two-game weekend sweep of the Des Moines Buccaneers following last night's thrilling come-from-behind 5-4 victory at Buccaneer Arena. The Storm railed from a 3-0 2nd period deficit, and scored the game-winning goal in the final minute of the 3rd period. Graham Gamache (2), Jake Richard, Kieran Cebrian, and Dane Dowiak scored Tri-City's goals in the win. The Storm will return home for five consecutive games at the Viaero Center following tonight's road game at Buccaneer Arena. Puck drop for tonight's battle between the Storm and Buccaneers is scheduled for 6:00pm CT.
Tickets to the Storm's home games at the Viaero Center next weekend against the Sioux City Musketeers are still available, and may be purchased online at www.StormHockey.com, or by calling the Viaero Center Box Office at 308-338-8144. Tri-City will host Sioux City for a St. Patrick's Celebration on Friday, March 17th. Ticket specials to the game will include a $5 Kids Friday presented by Big Apple Fun Center in Kearney. The Storm will host the Musketeers at the Viaero Center on Saturday, March 18th, for Kool-Aid Night. Tri-City will wear specialty sweaters that will be auctioned off following the game. Puck drop for each upcoming matchup at the Viaero Center is scheduled for 7:05pm CT.
Tri-City (25-16-2-3) has won seven consecutive games for the first time this season following last night's 5-4 road victory at Buccaneer Arena. The Storm extended its point streak to eight games in the win. Tri-City has posted an 8-1-1-0 record over the past ten games. The Storm is 2-1-0-1 in head-to-head matchups against the Buccaneers this season. Tri-City will host Des Moines for back-to-back games at the Viaero Center on Friday, April 14th, and Saturday, April 15th to complete this year's seven-game series. The Storm is 13-10-1-2 in head-to-head matchups against the Buccaneers in regular season games over the past five seasons. Tri-City won last year's season series against Des Moines with a final record of 4-2-0-0. Scoring leaders for the Storm entering tonight's final game of the weekend include Jake Richard (25), Graham Gamache (16), Trevor Connelly (15), Evan Werner (15), Kieran Cebrian (12), and August Falloon (12).
Des Moines (18-21-5-3) has posted a 5-4-1-0 record over the last ten games following last night's 5-4 home loss to Tri-City. Talon Sigurdson, Jack Reimann, Aiden Van Rooyan, and Gustav Stjernberg scored goals in the loss for the Buccaneers. Des Moines is 7-6-0-0 in head-to-head matchups against the Storm at Buccaneer Arena over the last five seasons. The Buccaneers currently hold a one-point advantage over the Sioux Falls Stampede for 6th place in the USHL's Western Conference standings. Scoring leaders for Des Moines entering tonight's home game include Joey Muldowney (15), Lubomir Kupco (13), Jak Vaarwerk (11), Henry Bartle (10), Christian Kocsis (8), and Talon Sigurdson (8). Des Moines returns to action next weekend with home games against the Lincoln Stars and the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders.
