
Madison Edges Bullfrogs 2-1

Powered by a Phil Sorenson second-inning home run, the Madison Mallards took down the Bullfrogs 2-1 at Joannes Stadium on Wednesday.
Both teams put runners on base throughout the game but failed to capitalize. Green Bay stranded seven and Madison stranded six. The Mallards scored their lone two runs in the second inning on the Sorenson home run, Seth McMullen also came into score on the blast to right-center.
Green Bay rallied in the 6th. Alex Abrams drove in Justin Seager on a single through the hole on the right side to cut the Mallards' lead in half, but the 'Frogs were held scoreless by Madison relievers throughout the rest of the game.
Matt LaMothe (2-0) got the start for the Mallards. He allowed one earned run in six innings of work, while striking out eight Bullfrogs. He was relieved by Danny Sullivan in the seventh. Sullivan went two innings and held the Bullfrogs scoreless. He gave way to John Hamilton, who pitched a scoreless ninth and earned his second save of the season.
Ben Graff (1-1) started the game for the Bullfrogs. He allowed two earned in six innings of work. He took the loss for Green Bay. He was relieved by DJ Slaton, who pitched a scoreless seventh inning in his first appearance as a Bullfrog. Christian Cecilio finished the game for Green Bay. He allowed no runs in two innings of work.
Justin Seager, Alex Abrams and Ransom LaLonde each had two hits for the Bullfrogs. John Welborn, Tyler Marincov, Scott McMullen, Phil Sorenson, and Mike Reuvekamp each had a hit for the Mallards.
