BATTLE CREEK, MI- A nine run top of the 8th inning for Battle Creek carried them to an 11-4 victory in the series opener against the Lakeshore Chinooks.

Kyle Figgins was brilliant with the Bombers as he ignited the offense with a two-run double in the third inning. Many other Bombers contributed to the team's success as eight out of the nine starting position players recorded at least one base hit. Kyle Teague started the game on the mound and threw 5 2/3 innings giving up just one earned run striking out four. Chad Jasman earned the win in relief, and moves to 2-0 on the season.

Game two of the series is tomorrow night at Kapco Park, as Caleb Vincent takes the hill for Battle Creek against Nick Soldano for Lakeshore. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:35 ET.

The Battle Creek Bombers are members of the prestigious Northwoods League that has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other summer collegiate baseball league in North America.
