
Maddox Lifts Surf Over Pride

Garry Lee Maddox roped a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to lead the Atlantic City Surf (8-5) over the Nashua Pride (0-14), 4-2, Thursday evening, at Hollman Stadium in Nashua.
The loss extended Nashua''s Atlantic League record losing streak to 19. Surf starter Jim Crowell had yet another solid outing, allowing one unearned run on five hits while striking out a season-high 11 Nashua batters. Reliever Anthony Shelby (1-2) picked up the victory for Atlantic City and Craig Mattson tossed a scoreless ninth inning for his 18th save of the season. Keith Gordon went 2-4 with a home run for the Surf. Jose Malave had three hits for Nashua.
The Surf and the Pride conclude their series tonight, at 7:05 p.m., in Nashua.
