November 2, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hartford Wolf Pack News Release
HARTFORD, November 2, 2015: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the parent New York Rangers have reassigned goaltender Mackenzie Skapski from the Wolf Pack to its ECHL affiliate, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits.
Skapski, 21, a second-year pro out of the Western Hockey League and sixth-round (170th overall) Ranger selection in the 2013 NHL Draft, has not yet seen any action this season due to injury. Last year as a rookie, the 6-3, 192-pound Skapski played two games for the Rangers and won them both, allowing a total of only goal on 45 shots. That included his first career NHL shutout, a 2-0 Ranger win in Buffalo March 14 in which Skapski made 20 saves.
In 28 games with the Wolf Pack in 2014-15, the Abbotsford, B.C. native was 15-8-3 with a 2.40 GAA, a 91.4% save percentage and three shutouts. Prior to turning pro, Skapski spent three-plus seasons with the WHL's Kootenay Ice, compiling career totals of a 74-54-5 record, a 2.81 GAA, 90.9% save percentage and eight shutouts.
The Wolf Pack's next action is the second annual "Sonar's Edu-Skate" school-day game this Wednesday, November 4 against the Toronto Marlies. The special faceoff time is 11:00 AM. Fans will be invited to take the Wolf Pack's "Kindness Pledge" at the game, and there will be lots of educational fun on tap throughout the day. For information on bringing a school group to the Edu-Skate game, contact the Wolf Pack ticket office at (855) 762-6451.
Tickets for all 2015-16 Wolf Pack home games are on sale now at the Agera Energy Ticket Office at the XL Center, on-line at www.hartfordwolfpack.com and by phone at (877) 522-8499.
