Mississippi Braves News Release
Jacksonville, FL -The Mississippi Braves and Jacksonville Suns season finale at Bragan Field was canceled due to rain Monday afternoon. The game will not be made up.
The game was tied 1-1 in the bottom of the second when the rain came.
Mississippi (36-32, 69-67) struck first in the top of the second. Rio Ruiz walked and Matt Kennelly doubled to put men at second and third. Sean Godfrey grounded out unassisted to first to drive home Ruiz from third.
Jacksonville tied the game in the bottom half of the second. Elliot Soto walked and Chadd Krist drove him home with a double to make it 1-1.
Ross in his final start of the season allowed a run on three hits over 1 2/3 innings. Austin Brice in the start for Jacksonville gave up a run on one hit over two innings.
The M-Braves will open the 2016 regular season at home on Thursday, April 7 against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds.
