Losing Pitcher - Steve Avery (0-1) Player of the Game: Lynx SS Eddy Garabito had two doubles and three RBI, including the game winner in the bottom of the 9th.
Home Runs:
OTT - Carlos Mendez, his third in two games.
TOL - none Key Plays: Garabito's 7th inning double gave the Lynx the lead, and his 9th inning liner gave them the win. Recap: Toledo got on the board with 2 in the 4th, and added two more in the top of the sixth to take a commanding 4-0 lead. In the bottom of the sixth, Brian Roberts led off with a walk, and moved to second on a Luis Matos single. After Jack Cust struck out, Carlos Mendez blasted a ball over the right field fence (his third home run in two days) , bring the Lynx to within one. In the bottom of the 7th, the Lynx counted two more. Steve Lomasney's one-out single extended his hitting streak to 12, and he went to third on Brian Roberts' rocket double to right. Eddy Garabito drove both of those runners home with a shot to the wall in right-center, putting the Lynx up 5-4. Mike Garcia was unable to hold the lead in the 9th, giving up single to Danny Klassen and a double to A.J. Hinch to tie the game. Garcia did pitch out of a man on third and one out jam, to get to the bottom half tied at 5. In the bottom of the ninth, Brian Rios flied out, before Steve Lomasney doubled to right. After an intentional walk to Brian Roberts, Eddy Garabito ripped a shot off the base of the wall in left, scoring Lomasney and giving the Lynx their third straight win. Mike Garcia (1.0 ip, 2h, 1r, 1er, 1bb, 1k) gets his first win.
Steve Avery (0.1ip, 2h, 1r, 1er, 1bb) takes his first loss. Next Game: The Lynx and Mud Hens take the field tomorrow night for the second of their 4-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. Probable Pitchers for Friday: Ottawa RHP Sean Douglass (2-3, 3.52) vs. Toledo Shane Loux (3-0, 0.38) Upcoming promotions at Lynx Stadium: Friday is one of our three Scout Sleepovers, where close to 150 local Boy Scouts are invited to the game, will participate in pre-game ceremonies, and will tent out in the outfield after the game. There will be a movie shown in the outfield for the kids. (Sleepover takes place after the 6:05 p.m.)

Saturday is Kids Run the Park Day. Grade 7 and 8 students from Jean Vanier Catholic School will spend the morning (approx: 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon) job shadowing with members of the Lynx staff.

Sunday is Umpire Appreciation Day, where the International League Umpires will be hosting a clinic from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. , any person with a ticket to the day's game can participate. Certified Umpires can get a ticket for a to the game for the special price of $5.
