MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has waived Alaina Coates.
A 6-4 center, Coates appeared in 14 games this season with the Lynx, averaging 2.5 points on 48.4% shooting, 2.4 rebounds and 0.3 blocks in 6.5 minutes per game. Her top game this season came on July 2 against Atlanta when she set a career-high with 10 points while adding nine rebounds. Coates was acquired via a trade with Chicago on May 24, 2019.
The Lynx return to Target Center tonight to host the Phoenix Mercury. Tip is set for 6:00 p.m. and the game can be seen on Fox Sports Go and NBA TV and can be heard on BOB FM.
