LYNX REGAIN WINNING WAYS
LYNX 91, LIBERTY 69
The Minnesota Lynx halted a five game losing streak Tuesday night, defeating the New York Liberty 91-69 at Target Center. The Lynx jumped out to an early lead, outscoring the Liberty 28-14 in the first quarter with Seimone Augustus scoring nine of her game-high 21 points in the first quarter. The Liberty fought back, closing the quarter on a 10-4 run to trim the Lynx lead to eight points, 45-37. The two teams played even in the third quarter, as the Lynx took a nine-point advantage going into the final quarter of play. Minnesota owned the fourth, outscoring New York 36-13 in the quarter en route to the 91-69 win. Shameka Christon led the Liberty, netting 20 points. In addition to her 21 points, Augustus dished out a game-high nine assists. The victory pushed the Lynx one game over the .500 at 7-6. The Lynx close out their home stand when they play host to the Sacramento Monarchs this Thursday at the Target Center.

The Lynx close out their home stand when they host the Sacramento Monarchs this Thursday night at the Target Center. The Monarchs won the first of four contests between the two teams this season, handing the Lynx an 82-78 defeat on June 12th at the Target Center. Nicole Powel and Crystal Kelly paced the Monarchs, each scoring a team-high 18 points. The Lynx had four players reach double figures, led by Seimone Augustus' 21 points. The Lynx are 11-22 all-time vs. Sacramento, including a 1-3 record last season. Seimone Augustus led the Lynx in all four games against the Monarchs last season, and went off for 39-point performance in Minnesota's lone win, a 78-73 decision over the Monarchs in Sacramento on July 29th. Thursday night's game will be broadcasted on the radio home of the Lynx, BOB FM 106 with Alan Horton on the play-by-play. The Lynx pack their bags to travel to San Antonio where they will take on the Silver Stars this Saturday. Saturday's tip is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
TODAY IN LYNX HISTORY
On June 25th, 2001, the Minnesota Lynx held the Washington Mystics to 51 points en route to a 55-51-road victory. The Lynx went on to hold their next four straight opponents to under 60 points, setting the team record for most consecutive games holding opponents under the 60 point mark. The streak was snapped when the Lynx surrendered 91 points to the Sacramento Monarchs in a 91-52 loss on July 3rd, 2001 at the Target Center.
