Minnesota Lynx News Release
Minneapolis/St. Paul - The Minnesota Lynx are inviting fans of all ages to live a day in the life of a WNBA player on Saturday, July 28. For just $140, fans will get to go through an entire game-day experience, including warming up with Lynx trainers, participating in a film session with Lynx assistant coaches, practicing at the official Life Time Fitness Training Center, receiving a motivational pre-game speech from head coach Cheryl Reeve and ultimately participating in a fantasy camp game to close out the three-hour session. Along with the three-hour fantasy camp, fans attending the camp will receive three premium tickets to Minnesota's game against the Washington Mystics on August 17, as well as a fantasy camp T-shirt, and autographs from the participating players and coaches.
This year's Fantasy Camp begins with the participants being stretched out on the court and warmed up by head athletic trainer Chuck Barta and assistant athletic trainer Keith Uzpen. Once they're warm, the participants will go through a full-court practice, instructed by Lynx coaches and players during drills such as the three-man weave and shell drill. After practice concludes, the participants will then move to the film room, where assistant coaches Jim Petersen and Shelley Patterson will break down footage for the team's next opponent.
The final step in preparing for any game is a pre-game speech from the head coach, and the fantasy camp is no different. Before taking the court at the Life Time Fitness Training Center, the participants will receive a motivational speech from Coach Reeve, who will give participants the same type of inspirational talk that she gives before every WNBA game. Finally, it's time for the Fantasy Camp Game, coached by the Lynx players. Once the game ends, Lynx coaches and players will sign autographs and take pictures with the participants until the conclusion of the event.
Fans interested in signing up for the Lynx Fantasy Camp can purchase tickets by contacting Minnesota Lynx Business Development Manager Carley Knox at 612-673-8408 or via email at knox@lynxbasketball.com The opinions expressed in this release are those of the organization issuing it, and do not necessarily reflect the thoughts or opinions of OurSports Central or its staff.
