July 10, 2005 - International League (IL1)
Ottawa Lynx News Release

The Lynx jumped out to an early lead thanks to RBI singles by DH Walter Young and RF Napoleon Calzado in the bottom of the 1st inning. After Scranton got a run back in the top of the 4th, Lynx C Ryan Hubele gave Ottawa a 3-1 lead with an RBI groundout scoring Calzado in the bottom half of the inning. SS Mike Moriarty then made it 4-1 after scoring on an Ed Rogers RBI groundout. The Red Barons got one back in the top of the 7th to make it 4-2. However, Ottawa quickly responded with two more in the bottom half of the inning. Calzado doubled off of Red Barons RHP Yoel Hernandez to score Young, and Moriarty singled in Calzado to give the Lynx a four run lead. Scranton loaded the bases with 2 outs in the 8th bringing the tying run to the plate, but RHP Aaron Rakers came into the game and promptly struck out SS Danny Sandoval to end the threat. The winning pitcher was LHP Brian McNichol who worked 3.2 IP and allowed 1 run on 4 hits. Aaron Rakers picked up his third save of the season.

Next Game: Following the All-Star break, the Lynx will return to action on Thursday, July 14th against the Pawtucket Red Sox at Lynx Stadium. First pitch for game one of the series is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
