Richmond put a run on the board in the top of the first inning and another four in the top of the second, though only one of those runs was earned. Lynx hitters combined for seven hits and four walks, but the club stranded 12 batters over the course of the game. Richmond scored two more runs in the fifth and added another pair in the top of the ninth. Gary Burnham and Joe Thurston each had a couple of singles and Tim Gradoville reached base twice on walks.
