2006 WNBA ALL-STAR GAME PRESENTED BY VONAGE
Catch Lynx rookie guard Seimone Augustus and the rest of the WNBA All-Stars on Wednesday night in the 2006 WNBA All-Star Game Presented by Vonage. ESPN's coverage begins at 6 p.m. with the game tipping off at 6:30. Augustus will be joined the game by three fellow rookies: Phoenix's Cappie Pondexter, San Antonio's Sophia Young, and Chicago's Candice Dupree.The West has won all six All-Star games to date. AUGUSTUS WINS DRIBBLE, DISH AND SWISH CHALLENGE
Seimone Augustus started her first WNBA All-Star appearance with a win in the WNBA All-Star Dribble Dish and Swish Challenge on Tuesday afternoon. The Dribble, Dish and Swish Challenge is a two-round timed "obstacle course" consisting of dribbling, passing and shooting stations. After the first round of competition, Augustus' time of 38.1 seconds was second only to Seattle's Sue Bird. In the final round, Augustus missed only one passing target and finished with a winning time of 28.5 seconds. Bird, who won the contest last year, finished second with a time of 33.2 seconds
WNBA ON RECORD PACE AT BREAK
Entering the All-Star break, the WNBA is experiencing a league-wide scoring spike. Never before have more than two players averaged more than 20 points in a season. Currently Minnesota's Seimone Augustus (23.2), Phoenix's Diana Taurasi (23.2) and Cappie Pondexter (21.9), and Los Angeles' Lisa Leslie (20.9) are all averaging more than 20. Team scoring is also up as five teams (Phoenix, Connecticut, Washington, Minnesota, and Seattle) are averaging more points than the WNBA record of 77.3 ppg set by Houston in 2000.

When the Lynx return from the All-Star break refreshed and rejuvenated, they will have their hands full with a Sparks team that currently stands atop the Western Conference. The last time the teams met, the Lynx scored a WNBA-record 114 points in their route of Los Angeles. The Sparks, now armed with star forward Chamique Holdsclaw (15.3 ppg, 6.7 rpg), will be hungry to erase the memory of the loss with a road victory. The Sparks are led by Lisa Leslie who is averaging 20.1 ppg and 9.4 rpg. Minnesota has won its last three at home against the Sparks but trails in the all time series 5-20.
LYNX PRACTICE SCHEDULE
The Minnesota Lynx will resume practices on Friday, July 14. Practices on both Friday and Saturday will run from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Prior to their game Sunday, the Lynx will hold shootaround from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
