Lynx Announce Free Pre-Season Games

October 2, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Augusta Lynx News Release

AUGUSTA, Ga.− The Augusta Lynx will host two free preseason games, General Manager Dan Troutman announced today

"We are really pleased to be working with Shepeard Community Blood Centers to not only invite the community out for a free hockey game, but also to promote awareness about local blood shortages," Troutman said. "Our fans are the best, and this is just one way we can thank them for their support, and let them get a sneak peek at our 2008-09 roster."

Before the Lynx take on the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, the only way fans will be able to get a free ticket to the game is by visiting any local Shepeard Community Blood Center location or mobile unit.

While fans are able to receive a free ticket without blood donations, they are greatly encouraged by the Lynx and desperately needed. There is a national shortage of blood reserves, and Shepeard Community Blood Centers provide blood to 17 hospitals throughout the CSRA and a regional burn center. Just one pint of blood can help save three local lives.

The Lynx will also host a preseason game on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 7:00 p.m. versus the Mississippi Sea Wolves. The free game will be presented by James Brown Arena as part of a community festival. More details will follow.

The Augusta Lynx will begin their 11th season of play when they host the Mississippi Sea Wolves on Oct. 17th at 7:30 p.m. Season tickets, group tickets, small business packages and fundraisers are all available by calling 706.724.4423 or by logging on to augustalynx.com.
