Lynk up with the Minnesota Lynx in 2008: Single-Game Tickets Go on Sale on Thursday, April 10

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL - Regular-season single-game tickets for the Minnesota Lynx will go on sale on Thursday, April 10 at 10 a.m. (CDT). The Lynx will tip off their 10th Anniversary Season at home on Sunday, May 18, at 5 p.m. against the Eastern Conference Champion Detroit Shock.

The on-sale date is scheduled for the day following the WNBA Draft, which will be conducted in Tampa, Fla., on April 9 and televised live on ESPN2 at 12 p.m. (CDT). The Lynx have the third overall pick along with the 16th (second round) and 30th (third round) overall selections.

The 2008 season will feature themes and promotions for all 17 home games, beginning with the home opener, which will feature a celebration of Minnesota's 10 seasons in the WNBA before a Sea of Blue, where fans will receive a blue Lynx T-shirt, courtesy of U.S. Bank, to wear during the game. Other theme nights include Inspiring Women Night (Saturday, May 31, vs. Phoenix Mercury), Kids Day (Sunday, June 8, vs. San Antonio Silver Stars), Movie Night (Tuesday, June 10, vs. Connecticut Sun), Golf Night (Tuesday, June 24, vs. New York Liberty), Volunteer Night (Tuesday, July 1, vs. Chicago Sky), Gospel Extravaganza (Friday, July 25, vs. San Antonio), Breast Health Awareness Night/Olympic Sendoff (Sunday, July 27, vs. Los Angeles Sparks), Back To School Night (Tuesday, Sept. 9, vs. Indiana Fever), and Fan Appreciation Night (Friday, Sept. 12, vs. Phoenix).

The Lynx will offer several promotions throughout the summer. Sundays are "Dads and Daughters Nights," where all daughters receive a half-price ticket when accompanied by their dad. Tuesdays are "Lynx Dollar Dogs Nights." Wednesdays and Thursdays are "Youth Sports Nights," where youth (13 and younger) wearing their team jersey get in to that evening's game for $5 when accompanied by an adult. Fridays are "Ladies Nights," where all women can receive a $5 discount off any available lower-level seat when buying at the Target Center Box Office. Saturdays are "Friends and Family Nights," where fans can print a coupon from Lynxbasketball.com and present it at the Target Center Box Office for five lower-level seats for $35.

"Our 10th Anniversary Season is going to offer Lynx fans a summer filled with entertainment and the fabulous play of our players on the court as we strive to contend for the playoffs," said Lynx Vice President of Business Operations Angela Taylor. "We have put together a package of 17 theme nights and several promotions that will make coming to the Target Center this summer a fantastic experience for the fans that have been with us for 10 seasons, as well as the new fans that will experience Lynx basketball for the first time in 2008."
