THE HILLCATS: Monday, the 'Cats beat the Kinston Indians 11-6...Kinston took the early lead with two runs in the first...The Hillcats would tie the game at 2-2 in the third, before the lead changed hand three times in the middle innings before the 'Cats walked away with the win...The bullpen was outstanding tossing five scoreless frames, but Andrelton Simmons stole the show with a 3-for-5 seven RBI night, setting a single-game high for the Hillcats this season...The Hillcats are currently in third place in the Northern Division at 18-25, 8.0 games back of the Frederick Keys in first place...

VS. KINSTON: The Hillcats are 4-11 against the Indians this season...Despite the Indians dominance in the season series record wise, the 'Cats have outscored the Indians 55-53 this year...The series has been ruled by pitching (until last night)...One side, or both, has been held to one or fewer runs in 10 of the 15 match-ups...Last night's 11-6 final was the highest scoring contest between the two clubs this season...Lynchburg took the 2010 season series 14-6...However, the Hillcats have switched affiliations since last season...The Myrtle Beach Pelicans (2010 Braves Advance-A affiliate) lost the season series 8-12 against the Indians a season ago...

SIGNS OF LIFE: Lynchburg has won five of their last six, and seven of their last 10...They've won their last three series in a row, against the Salem Red Sox, Frederick Keys and Wilmington Blue Rocks...It's the first time the 'Cats have accomplished such a feat all season...Not since May 23-29 had they even won back-to-back series...With just 27 games left, the Hillcats are five games out of a playoff spot behind the Potomac Nationals...

WHAT A RELIEF: RHP Andrew Wilson and RHP Eliecer Cardenas combined for five scoreless innings last night, setting up a comeback victory for the Hillcats, Wilson earning the win...The bullpen has now put together 13 straight blank frames over the past two plus games...This after being responsible for each of the Hillcats' last four losses going back to July 28...

BEST OF THE BRAVOS: Eight members of the Hillcats are ranked amongst the top 30 prospects in the Atlanta Braves organization according to Baseball America...That list includes C Christian Bethancourt (12), SS Andrelton Simmons (15), RHP David Hale (17), RHP Dimasther Delgado (18), OF Todd Cunningham (20), OF Adam Milligan (22), INF Joe Leonard (23) and 2B Phil Gosselin (25)...

ONE MAN SHOW: SS Andrelton Simmons went 3-for-5 last night, with a triple, a run scored, and seven RBI; he also stole base... Scouts rave about his plus arm (clocked as high as 98mph in college) and spectacular range, but he has proven he can contribute on both sides...Last night's effort was merely a highlight in a season-long showcase...He currently leads the league in hits with 124, and is second in batting average at .300...His seven RBI last night set a single-game team-high for the Hillcats and shattered his personal career-best by five...

LIKE HE NEVER LEFT: OF Todd Cunningham returned from a nearly two-month long stint on the disable list last Tuesday...Through his first seven games back, he is 11-for-26 with five doubles, a triple, three RBI, and seven runs scored re-solidifying the top of the Hillcats batting order...

CHASING HISTORY: INF Joey Terdoslavich hit his 45th double of the season last night...The next best total in the league this year is 28...He has already broken the Hillcats single season doubles record previously set by Rey Navarette (41) back in 2002...The all-time Carolina League record is 51, set by Woody Fair with Durham in 1948...He ranks among the league leaders in a number of other categories this year as well, including home runs (16, 4th), hits (111, 5th), RBI (64, 5th), extra-base hits (62, 1st), slugging pct. (.522, 2nd), total bases (206, 2nd)...

TONIGHT'S OPPOSING PITCHER: LHP T.J. House was selected in the 16th round of the 2008 draft out of Picayune (MS) Memorial High School...Spent all of 2010 with Kinston...Tied for third in the Carolina League in starts (26), Fifth in innings pitched (135.2) and eighth in ERA (3.91)...In 2009 with Lake County, ranked fourth among Indians minor league pitchers with a 3.15 ERA...Faced Lynchburg on May 17...Earned a win, giving up three runs on eight hits in six innings pitched...Earned win against Lynchburg on June 18, pitching six shutout innings...Earned Pitcher of the Week on June 20 for that performance...Won against Lynchburg on July 8, pitching five shutout innings...Currently 6-9 with a 4.39 ERA...
